Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP SLR or the Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12MP SLR? And lens question…?

So I want to upgrade from my point of view, and shoot for a nice camera. I have pretty much narrowed to the Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10th 1MP SLR or the Canon Digital Rebel XSI 12MP SLR. (May be 30D, but it’s a bit more expensive) My plan is to the body only of what I select buy, and I think the EF 50mm / 1 8 objektiv.Nu Here’s the thing, I do not know enough about photography to really take this decision. I’ve read that you put your money on the camera lens, so it’s worth it to fork extra $ 100 for XSI? If the functions a lot better than the XTi? Although objective basis. I plan to shoot most social occasions, weddings, parties, etc, travel and tourism photos and maybe some of these landscapes. (Nothing professional, just because of the really good memories;)) I do not want a lens for each purchase, but it is good, which are used well for everyone?
