I have reduced the firmware version. 1st 1 and these batteries worked great. I have an upgrade then again Ver. 1st 2 and the camera still worked. So I naturally fell back to Ver. 1st 1st . . I have a battery test with a video with my Panny ZS3 with just 10 full Zoom In / out functions, this battery lasted 90 minutes. . . I charged the battery as instructed. After inserting each of the two batteries I ordered, a message appears on the screen to inform me that the battery can not be used and the camera turns itself off. I’m back, because the batteries are useless with my new Lumix camera. I gave it a 1 star only because I had reason to give it a zero star rating and was accessible.

Before you buy this battery, I read the reviews on Amazon and did some research. I knew that Panasonic has the updated firmware to prevent the use of third-party batteries in certain cameras, so I checked the firmware version on my recently purchased the DMC-ZR1. ZR1 is a newer camera, so obviously the original firmware version also has the battery in the limit. Since it is the first firmware, there is no older version that I will go back. It is unfortunate, because the Panasonic-branded battery is very expensive, compared to the third party options. I have to cancel and continue my search. Panasonic Web site that this be done for security reasons, says also said no third party batteries currently meets their standards.
