. . . because they do not last anywhere near as long as I waited for her. My husband takes pictures nearly every day with his Canon PowerShot SX200 IS, and the battery lasts about 6 weeks. But traditional batteries die in a week or so, so this is a huge improvement. And they are rechargeable. He did not know the camera long enough, how many times you can charge the battery before it dies completely recharge.
